Welcome to the EASTERN SLOPES SPANIEL ASSOCIATION

With members located throughout Alberta, British Columbia and Montana the Eastern Slopes Spaniel Association is dedicated to promoting field bred spaniels and their use as working dogs.

​About the Eastern Slopes Spaniel Association (ESSA)

On a fall weekend, you may run into one of our members hunting upland birds with their dogs or you may find them competing for ribbons in field trials or hunt tests.  ESSA hosts Sporting Spaniel field trials and hunt tests in accordance with Canadian Kennel Club rules and regulations in Alberta and British Columbia.

 

Highlights:

​

• Dog club comprised of both male and female members dedicated to Spaniels and their use as working dogs.

​

• Provides instruction through workshops and advise to owners on dog training, handling and proper gun safety.

​

• Regular organized group training sessions, recognized field trials and hunt tests as well as less formal fun events.

​

• Group Field training is conducted two to three times per week from March to October for all ages and abilities. 

​
