We are past Jack Rabbit training and now into field work in a major way (May). The members are training twice a week as a group.

It was a little cold to start, but the grass is finally greening and getting a little height.

Here are some pictures of my red cocker Spaniel from the weekend of the Black Creek Hunt test this year.
What can I say about our effort that weekend? Gaston and I had spent about a year on his steadiness to flush and shot. I thought we were ready. While he managed to get two ribbons for Junior Spaniel, our entry in the Senior Spaniel Stake was frustrated by our excitement.
We went on to have some excellent early grouse hunting on the North end of Vancouver Island a few weeks after the hunt test… where he sat to flush and shot.

Tim could not resist and now we have more Cockers in ESSA. Kim kept another litter mate as well. Cocker's everywhere.
BRICKBURN'S HOLY TERROR (Kate) went home to Stony Plain and several of her litter mates are with new owners looking forward to competing. It will be interesting to watch them grow up.
