Birds and Bird Planting for Spaniel Field Trials
​
This video was made when it was actually "Video Tape".
It references AKC rules and policies, which are not important for Canadian trials.
The important aspects are how planting methods and quality birds can impact the outcome of a trial or hunt test.
​
Bernie promote4s the use of a four wheeler for planting. For ESSA, this is not an option on many of the trial sites that we use. They are conservation sites that do not allow vehicular traffic. We have to have teams of capable volunteers that haul our birds on foot and plant them.

In +30 C weather these guys (& gal) hauled every bird on their backs in bird vests walking the entire 700 meter course to plant the entire trial over two days. Absolutely epic effort. Thank you
