Eastern Slopes Spaniel Association

The following are proposed grounds for the 2026 National Amateur Championship. As always, ESSA works extremely hard to find adequate cover to challenge the dogs by providing natural prairie cover where possible. These are places we would find ourselves hunting birds with our Spaniels.  These grounds provide some great options and we will see what mother nature brings in the coming months.

Suffice to say, we will find and then choose the best grounds available to provide for an excellent competition.   

These properties are quite different and provide varied challenges, from winding creek bottoms to hedge rows and poplar copses and to wide open prairie spaces. The images below are not of equal scale but provide a glimpse of the locations and terrain.  The GPS coordinates for each property are in each of the images and you can visit them on GOOGLE EARTH and see what they are like yourself.
