CONTEST
Most Spaniel owners that have worked to train their dogs for field trials or hunt tests might recognize the diagrams depicting the "pattern" their dogs would run in differing winds. Some Spaniel owners may just watch their dogs running back and forth and believe it is random.

Proper use of the wind is central to the dog finding game efficiently and effectively. Natural ability is incredibly strong in quality field bred Spaniels. We train to enhance that natural instinct and ability.

The Handlers/Owners understanding of the wind is important knowledge and underpins their ability to be a functional member of the handler-dog team when running in competitions, training or hunting with their Spaniels.

To improve and share knowledge we invite you to review and analyze the wind treatment diagrams at the bottom of this page and offer some insight and suggestions for "better" wind treatment for any of the given diagrams.

Do you see any weaknesses in any of the wind treatments in the diagrams ?
Suggest a better or alternate option.
